Born in Japan, Hidemi Asano then moved to London where she studied jewellery making.

In her work, Hidemi combines the primary process of European jewellery techniques with the aesthetic of the Japanese tradition of minimalism which she applies to contemporary wearable jewellery.

Her inspiration derives mainly from nature, which she interprets and transforms into sculptural forms using both precious and non precious materials, and using her composite material she simulates natural pebbles that are held secure with silver or gold.
