Ruth Jackson's background in graphic design and advertising has greatly influenced her approach to jewellery design. She is drawn to simple, graphic shapes and distinctive, unexpected colour combinations. Textile, ceramics and furniture designs from the 1950’s are a great source of inspiration, particularly the simplified, freeform shapes, the graphic use of line and the bold juxtaposition of colours.
