As a Designer/Goldsmith,Shivani is passionate about the creative process involved in crafting a piece of jewellery. Designing and making takes place in
her studio/gallery.
Inspiration for her recent designs has developed from studying the decoration and theory behind historical Mughul architecture, particularly geometric patterned tile work.
She strives within each of her designs to achieve a balance between individual competing elements; these comprise composition, repetition, simplicity, symmetry, asymmetry and scale.
She often combines the contrasting colours and textures of yellow and white gold, oxidised silver and various gemstones.
Her designs for individual pieces of jewellery have resulted in a fluid, continuously evolving range of one-off pieces.
She is passionate about making, exhibiting and working to commission.
