Louise grew up in a creative environment with ceramicists as parents. She was fascinated by the contents of her mother’s Japanese lacquer box. Inside she discovered a treasure trove of miniature ceramics, carvings, shells, seeds and even books. Louise knew that she wanted to work on a similar scale and subsequently trained as a jeweller at Reigate and Brighton Schools of Art.

Working mostly in 18ct gold, Louise creates the strong sculptural quality of her jewellery with a juxtaposition of matte finish metal and subtly coloured precious and semi-precious stones. The resulting jewellery is distinctive, with elegant simplicity and purity of form. The unique signature of Louise’s jewellery derives from her individual use of techniques and materials, to create one off and limited editions.

An ingenious collection of work, including engagement/wedding ring sets and dramatically sophisticated necklaces, brooches and earrings, some of which incorporate distinctively faceted or cabouchon gems.

Winner of a travel bursary to research glass forms and techniques at Boda and Orrefors in Sweden, Louise is also a Freemen of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths and the City of London.
