Alexandra has been fascinated by jewellery from an early age and greatly inspired by her mother, herself an artist and gallery owner. Many of her designs are a reflection of her childhood memories.

She has concentrated on the technique of enamel. There is no other medium which gives such glorious colours. From bold reds, blues and golds to subtle pastels, they glide between her ribbons of gold and silver cloisonné wire, reflected by the precious metal underneath. What a wondrous medium with which to work !

Over the years, Alexandra has developed her personal style and symbolism. She enjoys creating special personal pieces for individuals, tiny pictures in wire and glass. They relate a story or evoke the inspiration: power from the magic stones and beads incorporated in the piece, a talisman, which on close examination depicts a history and secret message, an amulet to be caressed by the wearer.

An award winner of the Craftsman of the Year Competition, Goldsmiths’ Craft Council Award, London, Alexandra has work in the permanent collections of the Musée Municipal de l’Evêché, Limoges, France and the Musée de l’Horologerie, Geneva, Switzerland.
